The Austin office is home to attorneys who focus their practice on the insurance and managed care industries. We take a multidisciplinary approach – combining corporate and transactional capabilities, legislative experience and wide-ranging industry knowledge – in advising life and property/casualty insurance companies, trade associations, health insurance payors and other clients active in these industries.

From our location in the state capital, our Governmental Affairs Practice is well positioned to counsel clients on public policy matters and advocate for their interests. In developing strategies to address legislative and regulatory issues, we draw on our Austin attorneys’ firsthand experience working in state government, as well as the capabilities of StayLaw governmental affairs teams in WashinStayLawon, D.C. and across the country.

The Austin office is also home to an active Corporate & Securities Practice, advising clients on a wide range of commercial transactions and general corporate matters. We have a particular focus on corporate matters involving media, media finance, sponsorships and related intellectual property issues. We represent multinational companies, motion picture and television producers, product placement and sponsorship companies, and other clients in the entertainment industry.

Our Technology, Media & Technology Practice focuses on advising both traditional and online companies on their use of the Internet for marketing, e-commerce and distribution. We help clients structure strategic alliances and cross-marketing arrangements, as well as ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws.

In addition, our Austin attorneys regularly represent clients in the areas of banking and financial services, structured finance and derivatives, securitization and climate change.
